The descriptions below are of activities we like to do at our weekend meets, they are what we used to do before March 2020, and they are what we hope to do again at some time in the future. For the time being we must observe social distancing and keep safe, and so many of our activities may not be possible. Despite that we hope to see you at a meet very soon. Check our Calendar page for details.
If you are a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club why not join us at one of our meets this year and click here for an application to join the FDSG.
Have a look at our CALENDAR to see what we have planned, and OUR SITES will give you an idea of the places we visit. Our meets are designed for Camping and Caravanning Club members only, so if you haven't already joined then start here. |

Our weekend meets include Folk Dancing, music sessions, crafts, ukelele band, sometimes a game of boules, walks and occasionally geocaching, plus any other interests you are able to bring.
There is always a social get-together for Saturday morning and afternoon tea and biscuits. Saturday evening is a great social occasion with a Shared Supper (at most meets) followed by an evening of dancing and spot turns. |
CRAFTS: Our members love to share their crafting abilities . We have members who can paint, sew, knit, make cards and patchwork. There is always room for new crafts so come and share your skills or learn new ones.
|
WALKS: There is usually a walk where you can join us for an hour or two. They are gentle-paced, easy walks of 3-5 miles and suitable for everyone. Walking in a group is an excellent way to make new friends.
|
UKULELE BAND: Join in or learn to play. It's not only ukeleles though. It has been known for those playing a mouth organ, guitar, accordion, pipes and a host of other instruments to join in.
|
JOIN US OUTDOORS for a game of boules, crafts, coffee mornings, musical instrument practice, or just a natter. If the weathers nice we sometimes have crafts and barbeques on the field.
