SCROLL DOWN TO READ ABOUT ALL OUT MEETS IN 2020

6th - 8th MARCH 2020
Friday 6th March and the first Midland Area Meet of 2020. Shatterford Village Hall at about 10 minutes to two, Oh dear, no-one there!
At five minutes to two the key holder arrived and I asked “is the Meet still on” she assured me that it had not been cancelled but that Mark the Steward had been delayed in traffic at Hagley.
I breathed a sigh of relief when Mark arrived, I handed him the key, at which point he opened up the hall and so began the first Meet of the year!
Within the next couple of hours another 5 or so units arrived plus several day visitors – really too few to justify the description of ‘Meet’ – however what we lacked in quantity we certainly made up for in quality.
Once everyone had settled in Mark and Kevin cooked and served a large number of delicious pancakes, (see the "Photographs and Video" link above) eaten and enjoyed by all present. The rest of the evening was taken up with an eclectic mixture of music, song and dance.
Saturday 7th March began with an early Committee Meeting prior to Coffee Morning. Sadly our intrepid Easter Meet Coordinator was forced to leave the meet early. After lunch a variety of crafts and music practice took place until everyone disappeared to prepare for our customary shared supper – and what a feast it was.
Thereafter there was the usual Ceilidh style evening with contributions from Julie and Tom, Chris and Jenny, John Curry, Beth, Ami, Molly, TC and Kevin (I hope I haven’t missed anybody!), with dances called by Mark and myself. A thoroughly enjoyable evening!
After a stormy and windy night we all paid up and made an early departure for home.
